We had 2 girls before our twin boys came along. I can tell you that having twins is totally different than just having 2 young children. Every time you do anything with your toddler, just imagine doing it twice. That's twins

Fern

O my hell, it is harder. At least in some ways. When the twins are infants it is mind-blowingly harder, just because everything becomes a complicated word problem of how to get two floppy bodies safely from point A to point B, and there is nearly always someone screaming at the top of their lungs.

Now my twins are 3 and there is no end to the throwing yelling punching running screaming and sword-fighting. They are more likely to get into mischief because of teamwork and brainstorming which results in your home being a mini-disaster area. Like, I saw where you invited people to post their domestic zero photos, and I scoffed at your domestic zeroes. Your domestic zeroes are my 7:30 a.m. after we cleaned the night before.

However, I do not have to entertain my twins like people with singletons have to entertain their children. That is a definite plus to having more than one at a time.

Tiffany

I imagine it's harder, I like to hold it like an ace in my pocket. "Well just imagine if you had twins" and I would get looks of sympathy. Looking back, it was hard... there was no end to diapers, no time for mommy naps because someone was always awake needing something, no end to trying to figure out how to get two infants from one place to another all by myself. It's also easier, they have someone to entertain them 24/7. Granted now that they are older there is no end to the fighting and the teamwork they use to get one over on me.

Yes, I'd like to think it's harder but only because it would build me up, make me a better mom for surviving. The truth, I imagine is that it's just different which isn't so bad.

I nannied twins and would call my then-fiance daily to say, "Marry someone else, I don't want kids anymore." It sucked b/c they were on a different schedule, which I would def not allow if I had twins. And yeah, I say that as though this mom had a choice because that SUCKED!

Though I did later decide that having twins FIRST would be great because if I then had a single birth I would think it was easy.

my twins are my only children but i think its just different. I don't envy my friends with 2 children at different age at all. Though I can't stand it when they constanly ask me when I will have another. Hello? I already have two! You just caught up with me!
Anyway there are times it harder like, and in other situations it may be easier....
