So, here's the thing. That Little Rock move might not actually happen because apparently my husband doesn't like the officer housing. "Deplorable" was the word he used.
That's pretty bad.
And we have pets, so no Temporary Living Facility (TLF) which is brand new and gorgeous. And the furnished housing -- 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, family of four? Eh. I'd rather stay here.
In Atlanta.
So my search for a babysitter is on. I'm trying not to think about that I cancelled Q's preschool. Ugh.
Guilt. Ugh.
Doesn't help that I've been working my BUTT off on this thing (Isn't it lovely? C'mon. Isn't it?). That means bad parent. Bad neglective parent who really needs a babysitter or to have put her daughter in preschool.
So, that's where I am. This is where I am. HERE. And feeling a little overwhelmed.
Trying to do Thanksgiving crafts and buy Christmas gifts and do things with the kids and try TRY to get out of the house which I have learned is nearly impossible with a 2-nap per day child. I mean, you go out when? For lunch? Yeah. That doesn't work so well.
So I'm Weepy. Tired. Probably PMSing.
And I can't figure out what to feed my son for breakfast that is finger food. Apparently he's "over" baby food.
Any ideas?

Pancakes with or with out syrup. Waffles. French Toast sticks, scrambled eggs, sauage, some fruit diced up. All this stuff is soft and easy to chew if he doesn't have enough teeth. Hope this helps!

cheerios, scrambled eggs, pieces of bannana, pieces of apple, even yogurt can be a finger food, it's really, really messy though.

Waffles are good. Yogurt too. When I was going through the 2 nap a day, must get out of the house stage we would be ready to go when the baby woke up. Lunch got pushed from 11:30 to almost 1 pm. We had lots of snacks to get us through. It is doable. Even if it's just going to a drive-thru Starbucks. Oh, and the detailer wants us to move to Millington, TN. So, there's that.

Can he pick up Cheerios yet? I can't believe I'll already forgotten how old babies usually are when they can do that. Kix cereal is also a hit here.
Good luck with the babysitter! I'm off to read the holiday gift guide.

Aren't you supposed to wait on eggs? or is it egg whites? or yolks?
Anyone?

Pancakes. If you are like me, and are not a cooker in the morning, I found a few brands of awesome sweet potato and berries and flax pre-made ones in the freezer section. ( I am SO not a morning person)
Also, waffles, and banana's and cereal. About eggs, I think, food allergies aside, that there is too much protein in the yolk (I think its the yolk?) and can be hard for babies to digest. But I could be wrong, it seems to change daily.

My pediatrician just told me this week to wait till age 1 for eggs - just so you know :)

Yes, wait until 1 year for the eggs - highly allergenic, so they want the immune system to mature some before exposure.
So, that said, for breakfast, don't necessarily limit yourself to breakfast foods. Nemo has been over the mushy food for ages now, so I give him tiny pieces of banana, peas, cheerios, kix, sweet potato, broccoli, jarred/canned diced pears or peaches, bits of cheese (shredded cheese is great for this - take out of bag, throw handful on highchair tray, call it a meal). He pretty much eats what we eat with a few exceptions (no nut or nut products, no grapes, hot dogs, popcorn, other choking hazards, nothing he can't effectively gum, even though he has 6 teeth and uses them quite effectively). It's messy, but it makes him happy to feed himself, and it actually takes some of the pressure off me, because I can actually do something else while he eats and just provide companionship, conversation, and a ready set of arms should the heimlich be needed.
Hope my assvice helps some.

Waffles, bananas, toast, bite-sized apples, all kinds of cereal, scrambled eggs.

waffles, pancakes, french toast, egg yolks, cheese, cottage cheese, fruit, cereal, toast, bagel w/cream cheese-all torn into in bite size pieces of course. I don't use the syrup for the waffles, pancakes or french toast cause that just sounds like a big ole mess.
You aren't supposed to give egg whites prior to one year but Boog has already had them so I don't sweat it when he eats something with a whole egg in it. I gave him some Gerber Organic 3rd Food Pasta Primavera and it had egg whites in it. No reaction so I guess we're good. I haven't gone so far as to make him scrambled eggs yet, we'll wait another month and a half for that.

finger food ideas incoming (mashed or cut tiny until not necessary): bananas, pears, waffles, edamame, avocado, tofu, cheese, oatmeal, any boiled vegetable, canned beans (black, kidney, garbanzo, green), canned corn, dried blueberries (they're softer than raisins), and i'll stop now. i don't advise eggs in any form. the mess is a horror! even still.

Waffles, pancakes, banana's and dry cereal that is his-age-friendly works great. Oh, and cereal bars.

Every once in a while we make pancakes for supper and make an extra big batch. That way we have lots in the freezer ready for the boy's breakfast. dry cereals, chopped fruit, all good choices. My son loves raisin bread toast as well.

Are you going to just combine this blog with MU when Club Mom shuts the Mom Blogs down in January? Inquiring minds want to know...

Just to sexond about everyone out there, I always did waffles. I just cut them into strips and gave them with a small dish of applesauce to dip them in. Always a hit. You can do the same thing with toast, it's basically the same thing.
