So, I've been attempting to prepare my daughter for the Halloween onslaught without scaring the crap out of her. I know many folks are anti-halloween, however, we're keeping it light and fun around these parts. Of course, I dropped the ball and did not buy the monkey costume before people started selling them on ebay for $50 because everyone wants to be Curious George this year, but that hasn't stopped us. I bought her a chicken and a dragon costume to pick from and now she tells everyone she's being "a chicken and a dragon." DUH!
Anyhoo, I'm always in search of great books to read that talk a bit about Halloween without giving her nightmares (she's already afraid of the weird rocking horse my FIL bought her for Christmas last year, so I don't need to start in with the ghosts and goblins just yet). And so I enlisted the help of A Readable Feast's Ann-Marie.
Um. Have you been over there? Not only does she highlight awesome books on every topic imaginable (including this month - HALLOWEEN...), but she includes cool recipes and craft/food ideas. Perfect for me the uncreative not-so-crafty mother. I'm always stuck with what to take out at the library and I've decided to check her site daily for good ideas instead of just randomly pulling books out based on their cool covers (yes, I'm a 12 year old, didn't you know?).
And so today, she's highlighting the cutest toddler appropriate halloween book and edible monster craft.
Seriously. I can do this one and it's freaking ADORABLE.
FOR REAL. Go now. And slap her feed into your reader so you can check her out daily. Even if it's just to look at her cute picture.

Oooh, that is a great site!
My 2 year-old doesn't have a costume. I slacked way too long on that endeavor.

Great recommendation, thanks! Only question....why is her whole blog underlined like one giant link? Or is that just my computer somehow?

Ha. It might be your computer. She does have a lot of links - but not that many :)
